For the fifth consecutive year, The ASCAP Foundation was selected by The National Endowment for the Arts to receive a grant to support the Summer Music Camp at Manhattan School of Music. In the past our NEA grant has been awarded through the NEA Summer Schools in the Arts program. However, this category was eliminated by Congress, so the Foundation applied in the Learning in the Artsfor Children and Youth category which is very competitive. The grant is in the amount of $40,000. The Summer Music Camp serves 125 musically talented NYC public school students, grades 5 through 8 from throughout the 5 boroughs by providing five weeks of music training and performance experience free of charge.
